Delete a Product
You can disable a product instead of deleting it. Click product availability to know more.
If you are sure that you want to delete a product, we still insist that you first disable the product, and then delete it as shown in the videos below. Not disabling the product and deleting it might result in imageless products on your website.
Inactive a product or Delete a product
Product deletion is an irreversible process. Once deleted, it cannot be restored. You will have to create it again.
- You might want to make a product unavailable on all your sales channels instead of deleting it. Use the toggle button in the Product Availability section of the product. This is a safe way of keeping the product hibernated for future use without actually deleting it.
- Go back to the product you wish to delete. Next, go to Edit → Edit Inventory.
- Remove the existing inventory (if any) of the product.
- Go back to the All Products page, find the product you wish to delete, and click Edit → Delete Product.
- Confirm the deletion of the product.
Your product is successfully deleted. It will no longer appear on the platform and your sales channel(s).
Delete multiple product sizes using Excel
You can delete specific product sizes in bulk using the export and import functionality in the Commerce Panel. This approach is useful when you want to retain the product but remove only selected size variants.
You can’t delete all sizes of a product using this method. To remove all sizes, delete the entire product instead.
Step 1: Export product data
Sign in to the Commerce Panel.
Go to Products > My products.
Use the filters to:
- Select the appropriate product type (Standard, Set, Composite, or Digital)
- Select the relevant department
- Select the appropriate template
Download the product data file.
Step 2: Prepare the file for deletion
Open the exported file in Excel.
Delete all rows except those with the product sizes you want to delete.
Ensure only rows for specific sizes to be deleted are present.
Delete all columns except the following:
- item_code
- brand
- size
Add a new column titled command (lowercase or uppercase).
In the command column, enter
Delete
in each row corresponding to the size you want to remove.
Ensure there are no extra rows. If there are sizes of the same product you don’t want to delete, remove them from the sheet.
Step 3: Import the deletion file
Go back to the Commerce Panel.
Go to Products > Import.
Choose:
- Product
- The same product type, department, and template used during export.
Upload the updated file.
Review the preview screen, then confirm the upload to start the deletion process.
Step 4: Monitor deletion status
Go to Upload history to check the status:
- Pending, Completed, or Failed
Select the file name to view detailed results.
Use Refresh to update the file status if necessary.
Delete multiple products using Excel
You can delete products in bulk by exporting product data, modifying it, and reuploading it using the bulk import tool.
Step 1: Export product data
Sign in to the Commerce Panel.
Go to Products > My products.
Use the filters to:
- Select the product type
- Choose the correct department
- Select the applicable template
Download the product data file.
This export process is the same as exporting for size deletion.
Step 2: Prepare the file for deletion
Open the exported file.
Delete all rows except those for the products you want to delete (including all their sizes).
For products with multiple size rows:
- Keep only one primary row per product.
- Delete the rows containing repeated item_code entries for sizes.
You should now have one row per product to be deleted.
Delete all columns except:
- item_code
- brand
Add a new column named command.
In each row, enter
Delete
in the command column.
Step 3: Import the deletion file
Go back to the Commerce Panel.
Go to Products > Import.
Select:
- Product
- The same product type, department, and template
Upload your file.
Review the preview screen to verify the entries, then select Upload.
Step 4: Monitor deletion status
Go to Upload history to track the status:
- Pending, Completed, or Failed
Select the uploaded file name to see the results.
Alternative method: Delete products using item code
If you remember the item_code and brand of products you want to delete, you can use a simplified approach.
Step 1: Create a new Excel file
Create a new file with the following columns:
- item_code
- brand
- command
In each row:
- Enter the item code and brand of the product.
- Enter
Delete
in the command column.
Step 2: Upload the file
Go to Products > Import in the Commerce Panel.
Choose:
- Product
- Select the applicable product type, department, and template
Upload the deletion file.
Proceed through the preview and confirm the upload.
The deletion process via import is the same as described in the steps above.
