Astra Theme - Release Notes

Release V1.0.57​

  • Seller BuyBox: This feature allows merchants to configure the display and selection of sellers/selling locations on the Product Detail Page (PDP), incorporating ranking logic for products sold from multiple selling locations or by multiple sellers. The BuyBox configuration can be enabled from the Features section which offers two options:

    • Displaying seller or selling location names on the PDP page.
    • Allowing customers to choose from the available list of sellers or selling locations.
    • In sales channels where products are sold by a single company and the buybox is enabled, a store buybox is presented. This buybox includes a list of selling locations from which the product is available for purchase. The sorting order for store buybox is by order routing rule. By default, the store buybox is displayed.

  • Conversely, in scenarios where the company functions as a marketplace, and products are sold by multiple sellers with diverse selling locations, a seller buybox is showcased. In this seller buybox, only unique sellers are displayed.

  • For the sorting order of sellers in a seller buybox, first the stores for respective company are sorted by order routing rule. Then the identified company along with the store are sorted by seller buybox settings. For sorting, price is by default the highest priority and it can not be changed.

  • Header Icon Parity: Resolved a header icon alignment issue, ensuring parity between single and double-row headers. Icons now display consistently across all devices and screen sizes, enhancing the visual cohesion of the theme and providing a uniform appearance.
  • Image Gallery Slider - JavaScript Disabled Issue: Fixed a bug in the Image Gallery Slider that caused issues when JavaScript was disabled. Now, the slider functions correctly even when JavaScript is off, ensuring a smooth and accessible user experience across different user settings.

    • SSR for Top Viewed and Recently Published Blogs: Made the "Top Viewed" and "Recently Published" blogs server-side rendered (SSR) by using the blog list input type. This improves loading times and ensures better performance for users accessing the content.
    • Improved Tag Filter Input: Replaced the text input field for the tag filter on the blogs page with a more user-friendly tag list input type, enhancing the blog filtering experience.

  • Mobile Experience:

    • Smooth Carousel Performance: Enhanced the mobile experience by making the carousel smoother, improving interaction and navigation on mobile devices.
    • Sticky Filters on PLP for Mobile View: Made filters sticky on the Product Listing Page (PLP) for mobile users, ensuring better accessibility and usability when browsing products.

  • Product Detail Page (PDP):

    • Default Open Tab for Product Description: Set the first tab of the product description to be opened by default, providing a seamless user experience for shoppers wanting quick access to product details.
    • Product Card Image Gallery Updates: Improved the PDP product card image gallery with refined border colour and radius mapping, aligning with the design standards for better visual consistency.

  • Product Listing Page (PLP):

    • Banner Support Added to PLP: Added the ability to include banners in the PLP, allowing users to display promotions, offers, and product highlights directly within the product listings.

  • Header:

    • Header Mega Menu Fix: Fixed an issue where a scroller appeared in the header mega menu upon the first page load. The issue has been resolved to prevent unnecessary scrollbars, ensuring a smoother header navigation experience.

  • Homepage Enhancements:

    • Collection Listing UI Fix: Addressed a card parity issue in the collection listing UI when text spans across two lines. This ensures a consistent and clean layout throughout the collection section.
    • Image Gallery Block Limitation Removed: Eliminated the image block limitation in the image gallery section. Now, all images added to the block will be displayed, offering users a more comprehensive image showcase.

  • Product Image Zoom on PDP: Implemented a zoom feature for product images on the Product Detail Page (PDP), enhancing the user experience by allowing shoppers to get a closer look at product details.
  • Price Hide Option in Featured Collection: Introduced a configuration option to hide the price in the Featured Collection section of the Astra theme, allowing merchants to manage price visibility based on their needs.
  • Custom HTML Section: Added a custom HTML section to the Astra theme, giving users more flexibility to add unique content and customisations directly to their site.
  • Image Upscaling Options: Introduced an option for users to select image resizing quality (Standard Quality, Enhanced Quality, and Original Resolution), providing better control over image display based on the desired quality and performance balance.

  • Fixed Image Resize Issue for PDP and PLP: Resolved the issue where image resizing was the same for both PDP and PLP (resize 600).
  • Fixed Image Slideshow Component Bug: Fixed the issue where images in the slideshow component would flash for a second before appearing again.

  • Faster Hero Image Display: We’ve optimised the loading of the hero image on your homepage. The image now appears instantly, enhancing the visual experience for your customers from the very first moment they visit your site.
  • Improved Loading Speed: By preloading the hero image, we’ve reduced the overall loading time of your website. This optimisation minimises waiting times, ensuring customers remain engaged and are less likely to leave due to slow load speeds.
  • Optimised Product Detail Page (PDP): We have also optimised the Product Detail Page (PDP), resulting in faster loading times. This improvement allows customers to access detailed product information more quickly, enhancing their shopping experience.

  • Default Assets Update: Updated the default assets for the Astra theme, applied when a user applies the theme for the first time.
  • Blog Listing Page Revamp: Completely revamped the blog listing page for improved usability and aesthetics. Added new features: image slideshow, filter by tag, top viewed and recently published blogs. Introduced a heading and description section at the bottom of blog listings. All fields are configurable and can be shown or hidden as per user requirements, providing a luxurious user experience.

Key Features:

    Sellers now have the ability to switch to Mega Menu functionality, specifically designed to accommodate large volumes of navigational items, including menus and submenus. This empowers sellers with extensive product offerings to organise and present their content in a more streamlined and user-friendly manner.

  • Theme Extension Slots:
    Introducing new extension slots for themes, allowing for enhanced customisation of the Product Detail Page (PDP) and Cart Delivery Page. These extension slots provide sellers with the flexibility to integrate additional components precisely where needed, enabling a tailored shopping experience for their customers.

Getting Started:
To enable the Mega Menu functionality, simply navigate to your header settings and switch to the Mega Menu option by enabling the checkbox.
Note: The mega menu will be displayed only with the "Double Navigation" layout. For theme customisation, explore the available extension slots on the Home, PDP, and Cart Delivery Page within your theme settings.
